Land Of The Incas
This photo was taken in beautiful Machu Picchu Peru. Machu Picchu stands 2,430 m above sea level, in the middle of a magnificent tropical mountain forest. It is the most well known creation of the Inca empire. It was a religious, astronomical, ceremonial, and agricultural center. It is an extraordinary example of ancient ingenuity. It contains an elaborate aqueduct system and agricultural terraces that were still being used by local Indians when the explorer Bingham arrived in 1911. It is a place to ponder the past and give thanks to those who helped contribute to the foundation of knowledge we all stand on today.
