May God Remember
The souls that fall from love's cradle,
Become forgotten myths and fables.
In the corner with the misplaced they reside,
Under a dark shadow they hide.
The earth, moon, stars, and sun do not remember,
They to a heart cannot be tender.
For the forgotten there is no prism,
Through which they can see themselves in wisdom.
There is nothing pure to reflect yourself back at you,
All you see is your shadow, black in hue.
So as a faceless shadow I sit,
In a deep, dark, black abyss.
The home of all those that are unknown,
The prison where shadows reside alone.
How long in this prison will I lay,
Remaining a faceless form of grey?
Is there a heart from which I will not fall,
A home where I will remain forever within its walls?
Will I ever in another's heart be recognized,
 Generating that magical pure spark,
The light by which I will see my true reflection emerge from the dark.
Creating the moment I know I exist,
Creating the moment my soul is kissed.
Creating the moment I see my face,
Creating the moment I experience grace.
As I stare up at the great night sky,
I hope God will see me out of the corner of his eye.
May he remember all the souls that are left behind,
May he remember all the shadows that need love to find.
