Mother And Baby

Elephants have always held a special place in my heart. They are my fathers favorite animal by far. In my home growing up there were sculptures and statues of elephants everywhere. The thing my dad loved most about elephants was how family oriented they are. He loved how they move in family groups and have deep ties to one another. They will even mourn over the bones of dead ancestors. This picture was taken by my dads side on a trip to Kenya. Seeing the smile on his face and the glow in his eyes as he watched them is one of my priceless memories. When you are near them you can sense there deep intelligence and majesty. Let’s do all we can to preserve them and take care of them. They are one of this worlds greatest treasures. There is so much we can learn from them and our world would be such an empty place without them.
